how we treat our people

Most Nosara hotels demand that their employees work six-day weeks, but we believe that balance and harmony in life is important. That is why at Silvestre, every member of our team gets two days of rest each week. We believe that more rested and balanced employees deliver a better service for our guests, which makes smart business sense too.

The natural environment

Silvestre's landscaping is designed to be a continuation of the lush flora found in the surrounding nature reserve. Not only was the placement of the building carefully planned to save trees, but we planted a significant number of new trees on site. We are also a gold sponsor of Costas Verdes, driving the reforestation of Nosara and Costa Rica overall.

water quality

As surfers and environmentalists, we are committed to clean water for all. That is why we are using the gold standard for wastewater treatment: a Bionest system. Every drop of water, once treated, is repurposed for irrigating our beautiful landscaping, which eases pressure on water demands for the local community.

minimizing our environmental footprint

Every detail of Silvestre's construction has been carefully considered and designed to minimize our environmental impact. In the building, the focus is on water conservation, insulation, and energy efficiency. We use ecologically friendly and locally-sourced products wherever possible and pay our suppliers fair prices.
